I have the idea this game misses a jump button..... If I hook up a classic Suzo Arcade Turbo joystick I can't get far.

2:59 This is not how it looks like on a real machine. They use some wizardry to tweak the palette, and you see a very fluent blue to black gradient instead of the lavender purple. Which looks cool, but at the same time makes the already tough game even harder. It is also unacceptable to start with basically no energy, and what is also annoying is that if you speed up you walk to the right side of the screen where it is impossible to react to upcoming obstacles. Beautiful looking, but unforgiving and a pain to play.

Now do a proper CRT recording with 2-3 times the amount of game play per title please.

Played the first few levels so many times the pattern of the jump sounds are ingrained in my memory like a familiar tune. Still remember the excitement of getting past the first more challenging level (3)... and then being relieved that the next level was actually not so bad 😂

Thanks for this video ! Even after all these years, I did not manage to get past the solar power generator level. Too bad I'm so near the end of this game ! Manic Miner was my major inspiration for Hop! 2D, the game I made with Godot (you can look for it).

I always loved the CPC even if I didn't own one back then. Looking at all these great games side by side I now realize why I always preferred it over the C64. As an Atari 8bit user I always enjoyed colorful screens. My USIFAC II and ULIFAC cards will work overtime testing this long list of games. Thanks.

Wow. I had moved onto an Amiga 500 when the majority of these games were coming out, but had no idea so many titles were still being developed for the CPC. Lemmings? Amazing. I miss my CPC464.

Oh, this brings back memories. I used to play this at a friend's house (assuming we could get it to load[ this was the early '90s so it didn't always), but we were so young and easily frightened and never really got further than the "Gerry" character at the beginning. In fact I think we used to play it in order to get frightened and we'd grab each other whenever there was a scream, but somehow we always came back for more. Amazing what was considered appropriate for children at the time, but we coped. Good times. And well played, on your part.

Soooo many games released that year … could have done with this RUclips video back in ‘88 … instead I had to rely on Amstrad Action and the cover-art and backs of the Mastertronics / CodeMaster games my local newsagents used to stock 😂 … I had one or two of those games, particularly Empire Strikes Back 😎

I could never get through the swamp... despite having the map!

Usando bien el modo 1 con rasters se logran muy buenos resultados.

I played this quite alot several years back whilst creating an online review. It's a good game that requires alot of puzzle solving. The dated graphics still give it a slightly, dark atmosphere too.
